Compost Happens

My Mom used to throw her banana peels and egg shells into a pile behind our suburban home, and little did I know that she was creating a little miracle of nature right there, next to the garage.

Compost.

Little known fact: this Crafty Lady is also a certified Master Composter.  In fact, I think the whole crafty thing started with me just wanting to throw out less stuff.  Here’s the thing: composting is easy.  But like anything else you can think of a million reasons to to it, and a million and one reasons not to.

Right here you’ll find the info you need to get started on composting.  And if you’re still confused, give me a shout out.  I’m an urban girl, so the focus here is on urban composting, because, let’s face it, if you live in the country you can just throw everything in a pile in the backyard and you’ll be alright.

Composting can and should be an easy, intuitive, and fun part of your life.

The two major divisions of composting techniques are where your pile is stored:

Indoors

Outdoors

Still confused?

“Lauren, couldn’t you just come to my house and help me learn how to compost??”
